A small block of stone that lights the wall beneath it
A short column of travertine sits on a slim backplate, with the light set into its underside. Switched on, it throws a narrow pool of warm light straight down the wall, so what you see is the glow on the plaster and the stone itself, never a bare bulb.
At 16 cm tall and 6.5 cm across it is small enough to hang either side of a bed, beside a mirror, or in a run along a hallway or staircase, where a row of them marks out the wall in soft pools of light. Choose a round cylinder or a square block, and a walnut or white backplate.
The body is natural travertine, so the open pits, fine banding and warm tone vary from one light to the next. That is the stone, not a flaw.
