At £1,199.70 this order clears the 5 percent threshold, so £59.98 comes off automatically. No code, and nothing to remember at checkout. A further £1,300.30 would take it to 7.5 percent.

In writingFour things we commit to

Buying furniture you have not sat on is an act of trust. These are the four we would want in writing if we were the ones buying.

01 Delivery Free across the United Kingdom, with the window stated before you pay

A small number of larger pieces are held in a United Kingdom warehouse and arrive in 2 to 6 working days. The rest are prepared, inspected and packed to order, which takes 14 to 21 business days in total.

Which one applies is printed on the product page above the buy button. You will never find out at checkout.

Shipping policy

02 Returns Thirty days to change your mind, with no restocking fee

Thirty days from the day it arrives. Unused and in its original packaging. There is no restocking fee and no argument about it.

If a piece is damaged, defective or simply not what we described, we pay the return postage. This sits on top of your statutory rights, it does not replace them.

Refund policy

03 Measurements Checked against the maker's specification, not the sales page

Dimensions, load ratings and finishes are read back against the manufacturer's own specification and corrected wherever a listing is vague or wrong. If we cannot confirm a figure it does not appear at all, rather than appearing as a guess.

Furniture and lighting carry a scale drawing, because a wrong number is the single most common reason a piece goes back.

04 Materials Named as they actually are, even when it costs us the sale

An engineered board with a wood grain finish is called an engineered board, not implied to be timber. A plated finish is not called solid. Where a cabinet is 70 percent bamboo and 20 percent MDF, the listing says so and says which part is which.

This loses us orders. We would rather lose them than have you open the box and feel misled.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

HaloYard is a United Kingdom based home decor business selling furniture, wall lighting and objects in oak, linen, travertine, ceramic and rattan. Pieces are chosen against a brief drawn from Japanese restraint, Italian material, German proportion and Scandinavian light.

Nothing ships unseen. Every piece is inspected against the original brief before it is packed, then double boxed and corner protected for the journey. Anything that arrives wrong goes back free of charge.

Delivery is free on every order, with no minimum spend. Delivery is to United Kingdom addresses. Full detail is in the Shipping Policy.

It depends on the piece, and every product page states which applies before you buy. A small number of larger pieces are held in a United Kingdom warehouse and arrive in 2 to 6 working days.

The rest are prepared and sent to order: 2 to 3 business days to prepare and inspect, then 12 to 18 business days in transit, for an estimated total of 14 to 21 business days.

Orders are sent with Royal Mail, DPD or Evri depending on size. Larger furniture travels on a two person delivery service. A tracking number is emailed the moment an order ships, and progress can be followed here.

30 days from the day an order arrives. Items must be unused and returned in their original packaging. Every return is arranged by email first, so please make contact before sending anything back. Full detail is in the Refund Policy.

There are no restocking fees. On a change of mind return the customer covers return postage and the original outbound delivery is not refunded. On damaged, defective or incorrect items HaloYard covers return postage in full.

Once a return is received and inspected, refunds are issued within 7 working days to the original payment method. The time it then takes to appear depends on the bank or payment provider. Refunds on Klarna orders are returned to Klarna, which adjusts the remaining instalment plan.

It is worked out from what the order is worth, not how many pieces are in it. Orders over £1,000 take 5 percent off, orders over £2,500 take 7.5 percent, and orders over £5,000 take 10 percent. The saving comes off the whole order, it is applied automatically in the basket, and there is no code to enter and no expiry date.

Approved trade accounts receive 10 percent on every order instead, at any order value, and 20 percent on projects above £20,000. Apply on the trade page. The two are alternatives rather than additions: checkout applies whichever is better for the order, never both.
