The Bergamo is built around a circle. A slim vertical bar crosses the centre of the ring and carries it back to a narrow stem, so the fitting reads as two shapes at once: the halo, and the line through it. Very little metal, arranged carefully.
The light comes from the inner edge of the ring — a soft continuous glow rather than a beam — with a tricolour setting you take warm for the evening and neutral when the room is working. Beside a bed that is the whole argument: enough light to read by, none of it pointed at anyone. Choose natural copper if you want a finish that deepens over the years, or black with polished gold if you would rather it stayed put.
